Post subject:  Worthy cause.........need a little help.

I have this cross posted in several other VW forums.
Thanks in advance.

Hello all

I am a member of the Circle City VW club based out of Indianapolis.
Last month we lost a club member in a tragic accident.
Denny Woodall was driving his 66 Beetle on 1-65 around Columbus Indiana
when he was rear ended by a hairball that had been to an all night party.
Denny was severely injured with head trauma being the worse.
His car was pushed over an embankment flipping several times.
This dirt bag that hit him tried to flee but was soon apprehended.

Denny was Life Lined to Methodist Hospital in Indy but never regained consciousness.
His life support was removed several days later and Denny passed away having never come out of his coma.
Denny leaves behind a wife and three sons, all under the age of 8.

Our club has set up a paypal fund to help Denny's family.
Please consider donating if you feel it in your heart.
Here is the link:
http://www.ccvw.org/smf/index.php?action=store;cat=3
At the center of the page is a paypal link to just donate to his family.

The Circle City VW Club is also raffling off a BMD Serpentine Belt pulley system to benefit the Woodall family.
That paypal link is at the right of the same page.

This system is a great addition to any air-cooled T-1 bases VW engine.
The drawing for the pulley kit will be at the next CCVW meeting December 9th.
We are trying to raise these particular funds so the wife and sons of Denny
might have a bit better Christmas.

If the person with the winning raffle ticket elects to not take the pulley,
my shop will personally buy it from them for the $175 retail value.

Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5.
All that buy $5 or more in raffle tickets will be mailed their half of the ticket stubs.
Those purchasing less than that will be emailed their ticket numbers.

Please provide email and phone numbers in your paypal information.

Thanks so much.

The Denny Woodall donation and BMD raffle will conclude Friday afternoon Dec. 7th.
If any of you haven't made that donation or purchased raffle tickets and were going to, please do so soon.

We need some time to get our figures together so we can cut the check for Jennifer and her sons at the Sunday meeting.

Thanks to all that helped........... :)

Well I'm proud to announce the fund raiser and BMD raffle pulley for the Woodall family was a complete success.
We had donations come in from as far away as Australia and parts of Europe.
The CCVW had the pleasure of giving Jennifer Woodall and her sons a check for $3050.00.

Our thanks got out to all that donated and purchased tickets to make Christmas a little brighter for her and her sons.
Denny Woodall will not be forgotten.

Here is (L-R) President of the Circle City VW Club Jerry Carmer. and Vice President Steve Thomas presenting the check to Jennifer.

The raffle pulley winning ticket number was 703588.
Steve Thomas of Lebanon In. had purchased that winning ticket.

Here is Myra, Jennifer's niece pulling the winning ticket.

You don't know how grateful we, the members of the Circle City VW club, are to have people such as yourselves that care enough to help with this endeavour.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
