I've got a 3 inch rip at the front side of one the bars on my stone . I've talked to a few tire places around the Louisville are without any luck. They say its to big to fix. Mike, I had the same issue with my bogger. None of the tire shops around me would fix the sidewall tear. I called a tractor trailer tire shop and they are going to send it to thier retread facility and patch it for $30. I drop if off on Thursady and get it back a week later. I will let you know if it works out... |

I've got a 1.5"x2" hole between 2 lugs. Auto Zone has a pack of 5" patches for$8 and a can of vulcanizing cement for $8. works well along with a tube so far. Grind the affected area with a high speed wire brush and follow directions well. I think those Louisville and Nashville folks need to come down here and finish getting up all the spikes after they took up the L&N tracks 45 years ago. lol My Gpa worked for L&N repairing tracks. |

Yeah Passat that's what I have been doing all summer without the tube but its finally starting to leak again, every time I try a tube I pinch it with the low air pressure. It hurts to throw away a stone with all its tread left. I'll call c and m today Sent from my SCH-I545L using Tapatalk |

A narrow rim and a wide tire will pinch tubes. And the tire tread has a rounded shape causing less grip. |

I have a set of 4 plys I spent countless hours cutting and shaping and cannot run cause the beads are chewed up and leak, and pinch tubes almost every time I tried to run them, I had 15" wide rims. Without a set of double beadlocks I can't run them. I would agree find a retread company they can probably do something Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk |

It is imperative to put the right tire with the right rim for sealing , ground grip, no rim slipping, leaking, tube pinching, etc. Too tall of side wall will puke air out on a curve or slip on the rim so go to a taller rim. My 16"rims, 37 "tall boggers give me no trouble and a no slip lip grip. |

I have seen a several inch slit in a side wall fixed with model airplane glue. Apparently it melts the rubber back together. I'm thinking if you combine this with patches it would be a fairly good fix. Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk |

That's good to know!! I had a bogger that I tore the side wall up on and for years I had it stitched with safety wire and patched. It worked but was always a worry! |
