This is what I have: duel 44 idf webers, 009 distributor with Petronics ignitor. Brand new 2275, well 120 miles brand new and can't go 10 miles at a time. Runs out of gas. Fred the weber guy in New York said my jets should be fine...sent me a pair of "fix all" accelerater pump jets (the check valves in bottom of bowl). That helped; got rid of the popping and cracking apon stomping on gas. Now after 8 9 10 miles I have no gas. It acts like the bowl would be empty, but I pull off road shut her down (cause she will always idle) pull air cleaner and stacks....pull main jets and they drip with fuel. Frustrated in Kansas city!! Sit there for a minute on idle then drive back home. As long as my foot ain't on the floor I can drive 10 miles. If I get on it out of a stop light; hard, go through the gears hard...outta gas. Wtf????? Hope this never happens to you, but if it has HELP!!

A couple of things to check:
1) Must have a vented gas cap and/ or closed
vent system(use check valve with a return line).
Canister recommended for closed system return.
2) Check fuel pickup system inside of the fuel
tank for clogs or improper placement.
3) Check fuel shutoff valve for full flow when open.
4) Go around all intake parts with propane gas
to look for leaks. Don't go near spark wires.
5) Inspect for ANY loose parts.
6) Check crankcase vacuum and all four compression
levels.
7) Check fuel pressure. 3-4 lbs.. Adjust
mechanical pump with various gaskets
and shims.
8 ) Check for ruptured accelerator pump diaphragms in
carbs. Check for correct linkage settings
on accelerator pump(s) on carbs.
9) Check timing.
10 ) Check carb float levels.
More advanced repair:
11) Smaller venturis.
12) Different idle jets.
13) Intake manifold heating to reduce condensation
of atomized fuel.

Good call on the gas cap I was gonna suggest a fuel delivery issue weak pump or kinked line but gas cap makes good sense it has to be a vented cap
