Anyone see a problem with putting the brake calipers in the 12 oclock position?

I've seen where a lot of people put them at 9 o'clock. Is it because of the way trailing arms are made?? Would either way affect you on a hillside?? Just wondering.

I have mine in front or 3 o'clock to protect them. I couldn't do 12 o'clock with my arms.

i run 1/2 ton chevy calipers and i have to run them off the back of the arm because thats the only place they will fit.

I have a bleeder at both ends of the caliper. I just figured being on the top of arm would protect them better then being on the back of the arm.

Wide profile buggies seem to all have the caliper mounted
at the ~12 o'clock position, especially since they have the
extra room.

My beater buggy has always had the caliper mounted at
the most rearward position so that I can bleed the brakes
"on the fly" and the ejected fluid does not drip on to painted
surfaces or get down in bearings and bearing seals.

Of course one should never allow fluid out on to the ground.

Mine are at 12:00. They also have bleeders at both ends but you will have to bleed them unbolted and standing with one of the bleeders straight up. I just put something between the pads so the pistons can't move.

Mine are at the twelve position, I wish I would have done it at the nine... Reason being is it gets caked up with mud, albeit it still operates but still harder on it...

I always put them at 12. You bleed them once but you back up against stuff a lot.
