Yup. Easy to get burned out. It will take more time and money than ever expected to build. I built mine almost 3 years ago and still building...lol. Example...recent new lighting, electric steering, now looking at different tires and suspension. But I love it. Just don't expect or push yourself too much.

I Really like that frame and the arms. Your just missing odds and ends plus motor, around 1500 worth of stuff and the big 4000 to have a pretty nice setup

I built my first buggy in two weeks. I took a a Berien Warrior frame a trashed beetle and seats out of a old Thunderbird. Worked like 10 hours a day and got it running. It was as simple as could be. Just a beetle on a tube frame. Had a blast in that buggy. Nothing custom. It wasn't a hill climber or a very good trail rig, but it was a cheap buggy. That was in the mid 80's. I suggest getting going as quickly as possible. That way you got the buggy fever going. It will help from getting burned out from so long on a good build. That's just my opinion. It all depends on how much patience you got.

You no big deal I completely agree with that. I just set back for a set second and thought wow, because I thought about me building my four seater now and if I didn't have a buggy the stare at that runs and drives that I can go take around the yard I'd probably go nuts

alright, when building i have patience i love it actually this is why i prefer building than buying.

i talked with the guy and i wont buy the front end i find it way to expensive (1300$)

so im buying

6rib+3x3 arms+rack and pinion for 1000$ is this a good deal? i proposed that price since its what its worth? and i asked him if he got other things as well for sale.

thanks guys i really like reading what you guys have to say! :)

Guys my local buggy shop offered me full front end (linkpin) full rear end (torsion, stock arms, drum brakes, car cvs.) And nice rear tires. For 850$.

Dont know about cvs but what i heard is that their not strong(beetle cvs). Should i really spend the extra and go 3x3 arms and 930cvs or go stock with type 2 (bus) cvs for now?

Still not sure for engine. Really not sure about it :( 6rib for eco tec and if go 1915/2025 3 rib?

Thanks guys much appreciated!

Thats way to much stock arms, drum brakes and car cvs have zero value to me...

They are devices that you put in the torsion housing. You cut a section out then well the adjusters in. The spring plates go into or through the adjusters. Then you can tighten or loosen the tension on the spring plate which in turn gives you a harder or softer ride or you can raise or lower your ride. But this also effects the softness or the hardness of the ride.

IMO there not worth the trouble just pull torsions and get coil- overs or some people like the fox air shocks

Alright, im wondering how this has happend, in my frame which has been never used. there are 3 cracks that are around 1-3 inches long , these are not cuts they are like cracks with the metal sweeling! there are also about 10 other holes that were filled with water. i heated the metal and made the water exit. there was quit a bit of water in that frame, like 100ml

Is this because i was sitting outside for like 1 year with the PO?

Thanks guys!

Water got in ur frame cold turned to ice , ice cracked steel and yes u should be very concerned for all u know there could be more compromised tubing . U need to go over it very thoroughly and make sure there aren't any more cracks or water in ur frame . It will also cause it to rust faster

"Just pin it ! she'll go!"
