Post subject:  New frame or rebuild
I would like to get everyone's opinion on my buggy after this weekend, I had a good tumble down a hill in Wellsville this weekend. The frames pretty messed up and I'm crossed between a complete roof rebuild or new frame, I'm not in a big hurry to fix as I have to much going on to ride much the rest of this season anyways. I know I could make this frame be pretty strong but is it worth the time and saying that I just finished installation of the ecotech and had a lot of time in that. I'm leaning towards fixing it cause it still runs and drives so idk

Fix it man!! Its alot easier than a new frame,and if you like to climb it will happen again. Use what you learned from this crash and brace it better for the next time

I'm definitely leaning towards just fixing it and beefing the crap out of it, new frame would be nice but I don't have the time right now to pit out those hours. Also if I fix it it will be .120 wall dom. What's funny is the only pipe on the buggy I haven't replaced is what has bent

If the glue didn't work she was gonna staple it, only bad is she has the stapler but nothing to numb it, I've done that before not fun

First off... Glad you are OK

As for the new frame or rebuild, I am with everyone else. Rebuilding it will be much easier.

I was wondering, where did you hit your head? The bars do not look bent that far down.

Thanks everybody I'm very thankful it could have been bad, I'm leaning towards a rebuild, new frame would be nice I'm really cramped in this one, its small and almost no tool storage but its not really worth the time right now just to have some extra space. I have a lot going on with projects at home its only my second year in my first house. So buggy's being put to the side till some other things are done, but there be a roof remodel thread soon to come. Also I bent up front suspension so waiting on arms and beam from madmike Image
So my buggy season is most likely done but I'll be back and built to take a beating next time. I'm probably gonna take the opportunity to put in suspension seats and new harnesses while the roof is off and then raise roof to accommodate for enough head room

Mm I'm pretty sure my head was hitting the ground on each roll, I think its a combo of loose belts and roof not tall enough for me, luckily Megan is a lot shorter than me so she did not hit her head on the bars or ground. This has been a big eye opening experience. We will not go back out on the trails without a proper cage with enough bracing and head room. Also been considering helmets for when I get the itch to try stuff again

A lesson I learned quickly when I started riding buggies is when I start getting the "itch" to start climbing I always make my passenger (my wife) get out. Not because I don't want her to enjoy climbing hills with me, because I do, but its just more sane and safe to climb solo. Plus having someone on hand to video is pretty sweet! If your like me, climb it or flip it, I still want to see a video of it!
