Im running stock vw trailing arms in the back and 31 inch v treads. My question is what is the best way to get some more ground clearence? If I go 2x3 arms will I be able to jack the back up a little? Thanks |

2x3 will help the big thing will be what cv are you running to know how much angle you can run on them |

Well..... Rite now im running a 6rib with type 2 on the trans side and type 1 on the stub side so it makes a weak point to protect the trans. Im running my type 1 at 15* which I belive is max. So if i were to go with type 2 race joints which I think are good to 23* and 2x3 arms I should be able to go up a good bit? The reason im asking is because im going ecotech and im afraid the extra weight and the lower oil pan is going to screw me for clearence. |

If you are going to an ecotech, you should really go to 930 CV joints. They are much stronger and give you move angle. |

the ecotec isn't that much heavier and my ecotec does not sit any lower than my vw engine did. I changed from type 2 to 930 cv joints when I went to ecotec and they have been great. wiyh 2x3 arms and 930 cvs I have about 17 inches of clearance below my engine. |

The weight in an ac is down low and w/c's are higher. Especially after adding radiators full of water and fans. Weight high up tended to make my w/c buggies rare up too easy when I'd need that last grip at the top of a steep climb. And I had extra steel on the bumper. When the power gets under that heavy front bumper, it would just want to come over the top of the buggy easier. Aren't dragster motors mounted just in front of the rear tires? Just my opinion. Years ago they were mounted in front of the driver (bad). Put some spikes on the Passat and it will be a contender. Or a younger driver. lol |
