I have been looking to build a 4x4 buggy for years. You can get a vanagon syncro 094 trans with a front drive flange on the nose cone.

It is the same trans as an 091 6 rib with a different nose cone. You can beef them up with gears but it is still a Vw trans

sorry it took so long but he took a cd and raised the motor up hooked it to a short 4x4 truck trany and transfer case ran a shaft to the front then to the back under the trany he used a car diff for the rear sorta like the KY boys did there rear end .It was very top heavy .He also used a hummer front end parts .I think it lost all its fun when he converted it and the last I seen he was parting it out.If you look at the Aetna Mt hill climb gone wrong vid it's the one that flips Hard.
