I broke my six rib just like that. I called Rancho and got a used main shaft and a first gear for $100.00. Easy to fix just need snap ring pliers and a press. Pay close attention to the way it comes apart. Mine broke so bad it blew the gears out the bottom of the case. After replaceing the case and the gear and shaft it cost me about $250.00. Thats alot cheaper than buying another tranny. |

I'm not sure I'll have the money for both. The biggest problem is I need a six rib for the subi. I'm not sure the five rib will hold up. So do I spend it to fix ths tranny or start on six rib. |

It sounds like you have a 5 rib right now and don't really want to fix it if a 5 rib isn't strong enough. So your question is, is it going to be better to fix the 5 rib or invest in a 6 rib. |
