Post subject:  Wheels

Do you guys know is a late model dirt track car wide 5 wheel will interchange with a buggy wide 5? A neighbor has some race car wheels with beadlocks. I was wondering if they would work for my buggy. What is a good backspacing? I think they are 15"x14"x5" and he has some 15"x12"x5". Any help would be nice. Thanks

They will not work with out an adapter. The 5" back space is good.

There was a guy with an ad on thesamba.com that says he will make aluminum adapters for around $85 a pair. If those wheels are aluminum, snatch them up. They work great! Pretty strong and very light. Get the 12" wide ones , too. I need some for my sons buggy. Whichever pair you dont use, I'd be interested in them.

Phil Davis makes the adapters for about 40 each plus shipping. Phil's Bug Shack, Grayson, Ky.
The race car wheels are the way to go if you can find them in Aluminum. You can't beat their strength vs their weight.

He made the ones on my car and I like the quality. I have 4 years ride time on them now. They are made out of 1/2" Aircraft Aluminum plate with pressed in studs. I think the wheel would give up before you would bend or break them.

If they are Weld Racing aluminum bead locks, they are the exact same wheels I'm running, real light, real strong.
