I am just putting out some feelers to see if anyone is interested...

I am looking to buy a good running Subaru Forester for the Transmission and rear drivetrain but I do not need the engine.

Would anyone else be interested in the rest of the car? Engine, ECU, Harness, etc.... How much would you pay? Would need to pick up in GA?

Wouldn't it be cheaper to buy just the trans and rear shaft from a salvage yard?

There are a lot of 98 - 01 for around $2500 to $3000. I was looking to see if anyone wanted to split the cost and they can take the engine, ecu and harness

I am looking into that. I am hoping to use more than just the trans... I am hoping to use the Trans, DriveShaft, Rear Diff, Front Axles, Front Knuckles and Front Brakes

Personally I would be looking for a spare 2001 SOHC however not into paying that kind of moneys for one. I also would be looking for one with a lot less milage.

I have been talking with subarugears.com and it looks like subaur made a change in 2008 to a much stronger gearset so I am probably going to try to buy a 2008 trans.
