I really want to ride at biscuit mountain in a couple weeks. But i need to fix somethings like a bent steering rod and one of the horns that the trans axle sit in. And put the skid pan back on. Can i ride with the the horn bent? It has cocked the motor a little can i ride it like this for the ride. But the main thing i need help with is adjusting my torsion it sits to low and thats why i bent the horn. So can anyone from around My area help me? It would be greatly appreciated and if you help ill return the favor whenever you need it. |

wish I could, but that sounds like another Chilton county chariot. let Smokey drive it at Biscuit mtn and it will win. But 1st , loosen the gen belt, drain half the old oil, cut the cv boots and add dirt, remove wheel bearing dust caps and throw sand in 'em, lot's of smuck on the air cleaner, ram the buggy into a sewer pipe a few times to get it seasoned. They are amazing. |

IT looks like you have two choices, drive it until it completely breaks and hope that you do not damage anything in the process ..... or ..... pull the engine and trans and fix the trans fork. Depending how bent it is, you might be able to weld a support on the trans fork and get a few more rides out of it. Keep in mind, when it breaks, you will most likely be stuck in the woods... |

fix it and weld a support from frame to horn on each side it will stop that and it keeps them from breaking and your motor shaking |

I'd fix it but I'm wideopen on my trying to get it dun. Take motor trans out and heat it up and straightn it out. Brace the horns and let it roll. It is just bent right? not broken or rusted out? |

It is just bent right? not broken or rusted out? It will be if you ride it like that. Invest in a good tow strap and a heavy duty ratchet strap to hold the engine up. if you can make a support plate from the upper trans/ engine bolts to the frame also to add support or to the top mounts on top of the trans if it has them. Anything to keep it from failing completely until you can fix it the right way. |

After you straighten it up. Put motor trans back on. Weld a piece of tubing between the cv joint and exhaust on the frame horn running up to the frame some where. It will keep it from bendin back up |

Here's a picture of Odynuck's set up. I would support the trans from the bell housing like he did too.
