| Post subject: | power pulley |
I have a power pulley that started leaking oil the problem is that it rides so close to the pump Im having a hard time finding a pully that fits,it has 4 shims behind it to space pulley out but not enough for any other pulley does any body have any advice? |

Have you considered a BMD serpentine pulley? I think they are the best pulley systems around. They come with all the hardware need for easy install. Check this guy out, his name on here is Turboblue (Gary) www.davisracing.com Very knowledgeable and he sells BMD's. You also might want to take into consideration that useing that many shims, the contact area of the crank and pulley is minimal and these pulleys will take care of that problem. Talk to Turboblue and see what he suggests. |

we all ways just grind a littel off the back of the pully and a littel off the front of the oil pump |

Thanks for the input this helps out alot,I think ill try the easy cheap way first and do a little grinding see what happens. |

If you go that route try to find someone with a lathe or take it to a machine shop and have it cut. If you grind too much off of one side you will offset the balance of the motor and wear out bearings faster than you want. It might be better to pay a couple bucks now than replace bearings later. Are you sure your seal is not stuck to you pulley and is spinning in the housing? Most of the time you need to J B weld it in.Just a thought.MIKE |

I bought a BMD pulley and I still have all my old stuff. I will sell it cheap. Small pulley clearanced + with a good seal. |
