Wondering where the best place to buy a high torque starter for an 091 trans. Heard there was a generic to the imi-104 that worked good but haven't been able to find it. Anyone have any thoughts? |

Take I look at this http://www.woodsbuggy.com/index.php?opt ... 17&t=11144 I have about 120 in it and works great and if it did ever go bad you can go to the parts place and pick up a new one same day. |

it wont work with the 6-rib bell housing unless it has been milled, BUT the TDI starter is a beast!!! You cant tell you even have an engine in there. |

If u have a 6 rib bell housing and u buy this adapter and the 10 tooth starter it is a direct bolt on read the other post and click on the links and it has a picture of what u would be doing also if u go to westyventures.com they r the people who make the adapter i run this set up and would not ever go any other way This starter is so strong that i have cranked my buggy up on the trailer with the starter ( Buggy was broke ) lol |

It bolts right up on 6 rib be sure to buy a new starter on eBay no core needed that way. If you look at my ecotec swap link below there are a few pics of me putting this on and starter. |

I bought 2 on ebay for $180 a piece at once and it is an IMI high torque starter too, I like to have a spare one at all times..... |

For the record, the TDI starter setup is the shit... Put it on, no modifications or problems, hit the key, and then had to check to see if someone had pulled all my spark plugs out when I wasn't looking. Stock 091 starter would barely turn the motor over, the tdi doesn't even know the motor has any compression... |
