why do the events starts so early in the day? just wondering because a lot of people work friday till 4 or 5 then have to travel to wherever event is held, ussually arriving late....then have to get up in a rush the next morning to make event. and others cant resist a good night ride on friday which makes gettin it together saturday morning rough  not bitchin ,just wonderin

It's an all day thing when trying to get everybody timed and then run the hills.plus a few breakdowns or flipped buggys tend to also slow it down.rather get going early than run way late into the next evening if somethings to happen.but I will still agree,it's rough to get going early after a long day and night before.Chad

In defense of the Hill Climb the start times are announced way in advance so preparations can be made. When I have to be at work by 7:00am I usually go to bed by 11:00 and leave the house by 6:300.

As others have said, The goal is to finish the hill climb in a few hours but it takes time to run 40 or 50 buggies up a hill 4 times..

If we could run a buggy every minute that is almost 4 hours and that does not take into account the buggies that get stuck, roll or break..

Most events open registration around 9:00, have the drivers meeting around 9:45 and try to have the 1st buggy ready to run at 10:00..

I agree, hard to resist the night ride and sauce on Friday night. And Sat morning is ussually to early and bright  But any later and we would have trouble on the longer events gettin done before dark in the spring and fall. And Jelly buggies dont like lights, they are heavy

We do this every time we ride, lol.night riding is the best and nothing better than hitting a washed out nasty pipeline nobodys been on in years and going out the top and then set back and watch everybody else just try and follow you.thats when you break the jar out and tell them on the cb if they want a drink it's at the top of the hill.Chad

The challenge would be keeping people sober enough to finish the race

Keeping score would be pointless since half will not be able to finish and everyone would start singing karaoke on the mic..

Sounds like a good idea
