My msd box is breaking down after engine runs for a while.Sometimes it runs an hour and sometimes it runs for 5 min.I put a new 6al on it and it does the same thing.Swithed coils and it does the same thing. The only thing i haven't changed is the msd distr. I think it could be that or i have a bad ground on buggy somewhere.Seems like i have a few volts going threw my chassy and kicking in some kind of protection on the 6al.If i unhook the box from the b+ for a few min then it will start back up.Any Input?

When it stops.. How do you know it is the MSD? Do you loose spark? What if you just let it sit for a few minutes without disconnecting the B+? Will is still start up or does it only start after disconnecting the B+?

Yea it looses all ignition spark. If you unhook b+ wire it seems to start back up after a few min.If you don't unhook the b+ wire then you have to leave buggy set for a few hours before it will restart.Just now trying to trouble shoot it.Hard to work on in woods without volt meter or test light.I unhooked the msd b+ wire and the ignition wire for a few min and when i touched them to the alt b+ wire to try and start buggy, the alt turned over a half of a rotation.Like the 6al was storing juice in it.Didn't make sence.

Check your grounds. Also are the main power wires from the MSD box hooked directly to the battery?
