She did very well. She liked going up the hills but not down, seemed like it kept pushing going down hill. As I watched her foot let off the clutch going down hill I found her problem |

Take shims out from between pulleys to tighten belt, but put them back on the outside of the pulleys before you put the nut back on. Must be a bout 7-8 shims total or it will put pressure on your alternator bearings and make it go out prematurely. Also stand next to the buggy and eyeball your crank n alt pulleys to see if they are aligned well? Sometimes gotta loosen the alt strap and shift the alt a little. They (empi I think) also sell a kit with a couple flat washers with a key way in it to shim pulleys around a little more if need be. |

I had a buggy that used to throw the belt all the time. I used a shift light as a warning indicator. It was bright enough that I could see it. |

Mine used to do it all the time the crank pulley had a little bend in it. |

As far as the belt issue the pully is bad. the center hole is much larger then the shaft, got a new one on the way. |
