Fan is hitting fan shroud, but will stop when I pull up on the alternator. Can I shim the alternator? or do I need to do something else? Thanks |

You can shim the fan.. I am not sure about the alternator. |

My brother had the same problem and it was the bolts that hold the alternator to the tin. The bolts are behind the fan. |

When mine did that it was the fan itself had broke behind the nut. Had to replace the fan. |

IF! your fan is straight and true take some RTV and glue the gap and the next day cut it loose with a razor blade and you will have an air tight seal from hell. Remember air comes in and 1 way out. Keep it sealed. Does water cooled have leaks? |

Had to trim the the bottom of the shroud. Thanks for the help |
