I have talked to a couple of guys about setting up a course at Wellsville in Oct. It would be a timed race. One car at a time racing against the clock. We would make the course fairly easy (no big hills) so everyone could participate.
This is something I have been wanting to try. What do you guys think?

Sounds like a blast! How about having the race in the morning before people head out on the trails? That way no one would have to come back early to be in the race. Just a thought?.
I miss out on stuff at D&K all the time because we aint ready to head in when it starts. :?

Small entry fee and payout to have a little bit of incentive?

Sounds pretty cool. We could do it easily. All we need is a stopwatch and some ideas.
Would not take much to plan.

Dean and I spoke about it and it is going to be all for fun. If it were for money then we would have to make seperate classes and we just don't have the manpower for that. It will be more of a bragging rights thing. It's all for fun and to have a good time. Hope to see you guy's there.
Dave

If it goes well and everyone enjoys it maybe we could have something a little more formal in the future. I figured you would like the idea Roy.

I was just talking beer money, but thats cool. It'll be fun no matter. Hope I get to be there, instead of just hearing about it! Everybody down here whining about how far it is. I keep telling them its only half as far if you split the fuel bill!
I kinda understand, though, when they are are 3 hours or less from D&K (some of them 30 minutes, huh Willie  )

I have a few of them laying around. I can bring one to Wellsville in October if you want a spare one.

reverse in a v-dub trans always amaizes me, i've seen guys stuck in the mud, throttle to the boards and dump the clutch in reverse, rocking back and forth with no damage at all. but i pull off my trailer and BAM! reverse is smoked. (happened last year) i feel your pain.

I'm in, I have the stop watch and a set VHF radios. I kinda thought something like a short course, a hill climb and a 100yd drag race would be cool. Something for everyone. But with limited manpower, 1 event is plenty. Looks like us locals need to get busy.
