they say nothing about that being forbidden zone? I have a campsite at oak tree. Club idea sounds expensive and bogus to me.

I spoke with the Club and this is a good thing. The club focus is to purchase this land and use it strickly for Riding. I don't see any negatives to it. It will certainly be better than the way Forbidden Zone was being handled before. Owned by the Club, maintained by the club and security by the Club. So if your going to drop 500 bucks on a camp site why not be a Club Member and have a say in things?

While in the original article they do not specify that the land being spoken of is the Forbidden Zone camp site- If you take time to look at the addressing you'll find that is where it is located. If I am looking at the maps correctly- TWP road 306 listed at the bottom of the article is the gravel road you ride in on. When you swing down into Forbidden it turns into TWP 307 which is what I've known as the "Super Highway" through Forbidden. I think the idea of the "club" is legit. Unless land is bought by private individuals that are interested in keeping Wellsville open, it is only a matter of time until the land is purchased to be developed in one form or another. Whether the Baard energy deal goes through or not, it is unrealistic to think that Wellsville can stay the wild west we all know and love forever. I think OFV orginizations like the "club" in the article are a good way to keep the land open to riders. The price they are asking for camp leases is the same deal I am getting (with Jeffy) for 2011 in Oak Tree.

I've been watching the chatter on this subject on wellsvilletrails.com and i think its a great idea. There goal is to keep trails open and to bring only good things to all who ride the area. They are a NON PROFIT orginazation. They appear to have bought the property and there goal is to pay it off as soon as possible and improve the campground and and all things wellsville. Any moneys collected above and beyond this is going to be DONATED TO VETERANS ORGINAZATIONS starting with those local to the wellsville area. imo this is definately worth supporting and oak tree is probably going to be gone at some point regardless. They just posted there prices on wellsvilletrails.com today. They are very reasonable and they are talking having someone on site 24/7 as well as some lighting, major clean up,repair of the road to camp, consessions, etc.I recomend checking into it if you ride the area. :D :D :D :D :D :D

i just dont see it working out for the village people.i was one of the first camps at forbidden zone when they opened and just moved out few months ago.the biggest problem has always been the shitty road getting in and out of there.i dont see how they are going to improve that.the road runs through 2 other properties and is a township road to boot.you all know how much the locals and township love us.i know if i had a D9 dropped off and started fixing the township road i live on it woulnt go over so well.i understand thats alittle different but do you really think the township will want that road fixed so all of us riff raff will have an easier time getting up there?i camped there for 7-8 years and that was the terrible dragging trucks and trailers up that shitty road.it literally cut 25 mins off my trip from akron to camp by moving to oaktree.i know our choices are getting slimmer but if i had moved to oaktree 5 years ago when they were supposidly selling i would have saved hundreds in fuel and wear and tear on my tow rig not to mention the extra 20 mins. it takes to get beer, fuel or parts.anything would be an improvement i guess but thats just my 2 cents.

Columbiana and Jefferson county lines split Wellsville riding area right down the middle. "Forbidden Zone" campground is owned by "Hammondsville ATV Inc." Harvey and Anna Miller of Millersburg owners, and is not showing any sales since 1999.

i got this email today and thought some you might be interested in it

Hi all
There has been a new camp ground open. Here is what they had to say today:

http://villageohvclub.com

Everything is official today with the State, IRS, Bank, and paypal. We are pleased to announce that memberships can now be yours via our web site http://villageohvclub.com

We are making a educated guess that come the 15th of March we will be able to make the repairs to the road and resurface it.

A good portion of the burnt stuff has been removed but more clean up is needed, that will also be done while the road is being worked on.

We are discussing were to put another 60 lots, while we have the equipment on site we will put these in as well.

Guest parking and camping. When you come into camp and make that first left the entire area to the left of the road out to the power lines will be guest parking and camping. This area will be posted as Guest parking. Basically leaveing guest in the same spot and opening it up a little more.

more updates to come soon!!

This is some great news for us riders.
