So, right now, I'm pretty much stock 1600 w/ swing arm and drums, no tractor brakes, type 1 (I believe) tranny. I ran across this today: this is a factory chassis, IRS with a 3 rib bus tranny, starter, hydaulic pedals, seat belts, highback seats, new 31 competetion cut tractor tires, disc brakes, all wiring intact, and aluminum gas tank. $850 My question is, is it worth it for all the stuff I don't have, or should I hang onto my money and build up as time permits...I might could get $500 outta the frame ....oh, yeah...and it's 8 hours away. Thanks in advance. |

thats not a bad buy, but if you have 850 cash and could get 500 out of what you already have i would suggest doing some more buggy shopping, if you are willing to drive up to 8 hours there is alot of complete ready to ride starter buggys for less than that |

Plus I'm fixin' to dump on new wheels and tires in the next week or so. ...My kid really doesn't need a laptop or cel phone for Christmas anyway. |

Yes, But when I look at disc brakes for $450, and a IRS conversion for $$$$...it kinda makes sense to me to dump $850 to spend $350, this is a budget build, I have three kids and just found out last week (yeah, I was pissed) that # 4 is on the way (I'm 48). The wife said to sell the suburban and keep the buggy, so I've got that going for me (cept nobody will buy the 'burbon). Honestly I think she would rather see me spend the money on parts than have another vehicle/ boat in the yard. Looks good to me for $850 tho (oh yeah, it's on the samba).

I think my frame is a warrior as well. I never take pictures of my junk (unless it breaks and I' do a tutorial), here's a small pic of mine before I bought it: Attachment: lrbuggy.jpg [ 5.64 KiB | Viewed 2298 times ] It's not much different right now, other than I took the nuts laying on the bottom of the valve covers and bolted them back to the head bolts |

Thanks, you guys rock! He also has a 2275cc FS (scratching head). Chris, what do you know about the black one? I have an investment that should be maturing by the 15th, I might be able to pull the plug on the good one, and keep the warrior as a streeter or just sell it. Of course building a new shop is kind of a priority right now...after I finish the house addition, and the family room in the basement, and....well, you get it. I'll let y'all know if something happens, I may just need the road time. I'm on seasonal layoff and all I'm doin' is working on the house and cuttin' firewood (to insure we don't have a winter like last year). |
