| Post subject: | Maybe Build a Chaindrive??? |
I'm up here in Mid Michigan, and I have never seen a Chaindrive in person. They just aint up here. I'm playing with the idea of building one just to be different. I've been lurking around this site for a few years now and I'm definitely diggin the Chaindrives. So who could I talk to bout building one without steppin on anyones toes? |

Babychains can't hold a candle to the real chaindrives but it is a way to get close without starting from scratch. good luck |

Right now I'm running a 4.3 in a buggy that resembles a station wagon. I just wanna try something different. |

The biggest problem with owning a buggy im Michigan is finding a place to ride. We have the sand dunes on the west side of the state but other than that there aint much out there. In order to ride on most trails you have to be street legal, and that aint too awful easy in Michigan, (If you wanna do it right). What we do have in Michigan is mud! So I was thinking chaindrive the buggy and set it up to play in the mud along with the dunes and maybe even get it street legal. Any input or advise would be appreciated. Heck, I dont even mind gettin made fun sometimes. I just wanna build something different. |

Mud is hard on chains and sprockets, and the long trailing arm are not ideal for street. Hills is their claim to fame. You might consider some sort of mid-engine,,maybe even a suby with suby tranny . good luck |

Another problem with chain drive is all the reduction, bad for street speed, and maybe too low for the dunes too. Fastest I got there this summer was just over 60MPH. ????? |

The most fun thus far in my buggy experience has been building them. All the buggy's I've worked on have been "conventional", I want something different. I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel guys. I just wanna have some fun building something different. I've been trying to find pics and specs of CD's online but I cant seem to find much. Anybody have any suggestions? |
