Hi im derek and new to this site. I used to ride the pipelines in central alabama back in the 90s and got out of till recently. Im currently building a tube chassis manx for trail riding and am in the market for a woods rail to ride in the fall while building the manx. Anyway its good to know theres still some land left to ride anymore. Is there anyone still riding Jemison or Clanton area? Its only 2 hour drive for me as live on the coast. 8) [iImagemg][/img]

Funny, my best friend and riding buddy had a long rail that color and his name is Larry! He sold it about 6 or 7 years ago.

welcome to the site, like someone said before this is the best woodsbuggy site out there.I live up around 25 miles north of b-ham and have rode some of the same places you have ,we still ride fultondale,mt.olive and currently do most of our riding at wilborns offroad park in hanceville al. just north of b-ham about 40 miles it has 3200 acres to ride on.If your looking to get back into woods buggys, I coordinate a buggy club called Dixie Dune Buggys which has alot of members that used to ride jemison,we currently have 62 members and membership is free,t-shirts are $12 and stickers are also $12.We would love for you to come up and ride with us sometime,we are having a huge labor day event at wilborns off-road park with a hill climb competition paying $1000 to win, along with some other events for 4 wheelers as well :D :D

WickedSpyder isn't answering me, but, I'm pretty sure that buggy was built by Mike Adams, I tried buying it from Mike a few years back but didn't make it down to AL in time. Mike's one hell of a buggy builder and fabricator. He's now into rock buggies and has one hell of one of them too. My buddy bought Mike's brother's rail and I bought one off of Keith Mitchell (which is now gone from me) that were very similar and they still are doing great!

My 2 pennies.

Welcome to the site. As far as the Chain Drives. To summerize an 11 page post. Curt was unhappy with his small unit so he compensated by building a monster buggy. Sound about right guys?
