i dont think you will go wrong listening to bobby or letting him work on your engine or tranny for that matter if you ever need it and he is a good guy also imo.

sorry to hear this happened especially to somebody new to buggies as this is what causes some to dislike them but when one is built right and properly maintained they are very dependable and loads of fun also

maybe when you get it going again i can get a few together to come up and ride with yall at bruton, we almost came this past sunday but ended up at wilborns instead

These things happen. Buying a built performance buggy for a first time rider can be really tough especially when you don't know much about them. Starting with a beater and a stock engine has big advantages. People see us running hard and fast and don't realize we spent time in the school of hard knocks to get there. The three rib attached to my 2180 is many years old and still works. Same with the 20 year old 2180. I learned just how hard to run from watching what the others did to kill parts on their buggies and from advice from seasoned riders. That way I knew how much abuse parts will take. There is a difference betwen hard and abusive. Oil leaks in VWs are normal. I have had breather hoses fall off, the oil does not come out fast, a sucked in valve cover gasket will. My valve covers are modified to not let that happen. I have a oil temp and oil pressure guages but most often my nose catches the leak first. Any time I get out of the rail I walk around it and inspect. I also have a quiet exhaust so I can hear the rail talk to me. At least this lesson did not cause you any bodily damage.

That happend to me on my first buggy bought in florida with all good hopes got it to ohio had a hard time getting it running right then when i did i pulled it out of my garage got about 5 feet and it locked up tighter then shit so next day i went to la products bought a new motor stuck it in pulled it out of garage and same thing happend so i was like what the "F' is going on so i took the buggy and motor up to la and guys there looked at everything and here my through out bearing was the wrong one for my clutch and was putting to much pressure on my bearings and caused them to spun. so i learned to double check every thing i buy now
