i dont think you are thinking the same way we are if its light its strong im running alum.trailing arms and iv put them thrue hell and never bent one but iv seen lots of steel ones bend.we could take two buggys to the top of a hill 1compbuggy as yall call them and 1 trail buggy roll them off and see what one has the most damage . we could use bruce's as the comp buggy and rock's as the trailbuggy

I agree. Dont confuse a KY buggy as being a competition only buggy, Metz. Their "formula" was derived way before any organized climbing competitions were thought of. They get trail rode as much or more than any buggy. I dont think there has been a woodsbuggy built in KY yet with
only the hillclimb comps in mind.
Like you said yerself, less weight is less stress. My two seater was built with sturdiness in mind rather than weight savings. It broke stuff way more often than my single seater does, and it didnt get put thru 1/3 of the abuse.
i think you are being tricky with your words larry, lol.take that line under only and move it to comps.

i have seen more ky buggys set up for climbing than riding.when you build a single seater and shave every ounce of weight that is possible to spare,it aint so it will trail ride better.hell if i was worried about my buggy not going somrwhere because it had 10 extra pounds on it then well i just need to either not go or set at the bottom and drink 5 or six beers to cut wieght from the cooler.lol.i'm not knocking anybodys buggy cause i think i will build a single seater soon and they are awsome climbing machines, and thats what it will be built for playing on the hills.some of you guys dont even carry tools or spare nothing cause it adds weight.and put little 5 gal fuel cells on them and agian all for climbing.so to say these buggys are built for competition only is not really correct but to say that they are built geared more for climbing than most anything else then yes they are built for that.are they tougher than most you could say yes on this as well due to the weight cuts that cause less stress on moving parts and in a roll over less weight to roll and gain speed and to crush the bars down.everybody needs to build their buggy to be thier buggy.for me thats a buggy that carrys everything under the sun to fix it.cooler(larger than most small fridges)stocked full.11gal fuel tank(only cause i couldnt get a bigger one at the time.lol.)and can leave at 10am on sat and ride til dark on sunday and have the shit run out of it the whole time carrying me and my wife and usally the boy.now i dont know what type of buggy this is classified as but to me it's a dunebuggy woodsbuggy railbuggy mudbuggy get the job done buggy drink beer have a good time meet new people and go ALMOST everywhere i want to go,sometimes i tend to go places in hind site i really didnt want to.lol.but i give it hell everychance i can and nothing feels better than making a new trail so i guess i got just an all around BUGGY.chad
