hey guys we allways go on a trip to another place to ride everyyear. we went to michigian for the dunes(not too funn) and me and one of my riding buddies were on youtube and he watched some of the hills. he wants to go, as do i. i was wondering what kinda info i would need: how hard it is, what kinda prep i need to do, rules, if anyone would show us around and maybe some good vids. just from there

thanks guys,

Curt rides there and I know another guy that rids there almost every weekend. I will ask him. Curt can answer most if not all your questions.

If you are asking about Mt. Aetna,I can tell you a few things. It is private property, and you do not have permission to be there. But people have been riding there for 20 or 30 years with few problems. (Occasionally you will come back to your truck and the window is broke out, or has been burnt but only a few times, that has never happened to me but I have seen some that has) It is a great place to ride lots of trails, rutted out very bad in places, some very deep mud holes but most bad places there is an easy way around. I have some friends that go nearly every weekend. Far the last 3 weekends there has been a gate put up with a lock on it with a sign that says "NO TRESSPASSING BY THE CITY CODE XXXXX-XXXXXXX OF THE CITY OF CHATANOOGA

riding in restricted areas is what everyone is trying to prevent. it gives a bad name for offroaders. if it says off limits thats what it means. hell we are trying to keep places open not giving them fuel to shutdown the legal places we have now. no trespassing means just that guys.

I agree with Kyle 100%! I STILL hear of guys riding in the back of Livingston after it was posted like 3 years ago, and posted again, fines increased drastically a couple months ago, write ups and warnings in newspapers etc. etc. Its only 45 minutes from a BETTER place to ride (D&K), and probably closer than that to some other spots that aint posted.
STAY OUT BEFORE THEY POST EVERYTHING!! and make all offroading illegal!

They can even give you problems if its on private property, just ask the owner of Hillznhollerz!

(sorry about thread pirating, this about Aetna!, but it needs to stop happening)

I agree with Kyle 100% also, I was just telling him what it is like there. I will not be going back since they have put up a gate and no trespassing signs. I have been told that the owners have not cared in the past. But now they are starting to develop the land and it is changing. Of course all the trash does not help either. When I was a kid there was a song they would air on TV with a commercial the song name was Tennessee trash. I now know why they made that song if you go there you would understand.

exactly if people would stay off then maybe they would loosen the belt so to speak and let certain groups ride with proper permission. hell before long its all gonna be housing developments with no place to ride. heh glad you guys feel the same way.

NO doubt D&K would be the best choice. They have Easy to steep hills. and a good VW parts store close by. Southern buggys. A good weekend would be poker run weekend, there will be lots of people there. This is a great place to go. The guy that runs (ownes) the place has buggys also. His name is Darrell and he is a super great guy.

Agree with Bruce D&K is hard to beat no doubt about it. With the 1641 you have the creek and WindRock would be a good place to ride. I am sure that there are several more places between these that can be a good riding place as well. I just don't know about them.

Yea I knew the last time we went to Aetna that it would be the last time to go in the neiborhood. Some dumb ass decided to ramp the entrance fountain at the circle and broke the wall down on both sides. Stuff like this is why they close places down to us. I had a ball last time and would love to go back. Thansk Curt for the tour last time!

If Aetna is closed, you could always stop in Onieda TN and ride at brimstone.

Don't forget the Creek is privately owned also. According to a good source, he has threatened more than once to close it. If you decide to go there, make sure you clean up.

The creek is on shaky ground the owner is seeing more and more people parked on the road side again. He has closed it in the past. Would like to get a clean up day together to clean the place up. Might even try to get the old car out of there somehow. That would be nice so it isn't an eye sore.

Why dont someone talk to him see what his ideas are for parking, clean-up.or maybe even a little bit of $$ for letting us ride there. Cause I love that place.

I don't think he minds, as long as no one gets hurt. Oh yeah....KEEPING HIS PROPERTY CLEAN!!! I enjoy riding there as well. We used to have trash p/u rides about once a year there......It is probably time to do it again.
