I say we get back to talking about buggys... I know many of you have been working on your buggys during winter... Lets see what you have done.

I think I finally have the bugs worked out in the new engine. I will run it for a few more weeks and then my nephew wants to challenge me on a Dyno with his Integra.

I replaced the main shaft seal and hockey stick in my new (used) six rib.

Built a skid plate out of steel plate to protect the new engine.

I will post pics later.

I have looked at it! I am on another project at this point in time however I have the following plans for the Buggy over the Winter:

1) Replace heavy plate style 2 x 3 arms with Chromoly Tublar style 3 x 3 arms.
2) Replace the rear 2 piston Wildwood calipers with 4 Piston Wildwood calipers
3) Convert to Coilover in the rear (Probably gonna run dual shocks in the rear)
4) Build new trans with Weddle close ratio 1st thru 4th gears
5) Replace the existing 3 stage dry sump pump with a 4 stage so the Turbo drain has its own port.
6) Rebuild the front end and convert from King pin alloy bushings to needle roller bearings.

in addition to my post about redoing my front top beam supports...
1) switch to coilover shocks and get rid of the torsion in the rear.
2) install the peloquin diff in my tranny and see if it will work in a woods buggy with cutter brakes.
3) replace my front slicks

I am just starting on my buggy. I am fixing the things that the original owner should have such as cutting the front end out (since they welded it in) and welding on clamps and filling in the 40 million holes where the person who built it thought it was a good idea to use self tapping screws instead of tabs to install the floor.

heres another reason why i cut my top rails and replaced them. it just seems like the bend on the top rail leading down to the beam would be a weak point.

I'm putting on 3x3's and air bags on the back, extending the front trailing arms and make new shock mounts on the front. adding a radio and working cb.
So far I took one trailing arm off, looked at it, drank some beer, (drinking some german stuff called EKU right now) talked about it, replaced some kitchen cabinet's, watched tv, practiced my guitar......... at this rate I might be done by memorial day

I also decided I am collecting parts for a suby conversion. Assuming the overtime gods keep smiling on me, the conversion will happen next winter.

I added a new set of 2x3's on the back. In the process of putting 4 piston breaks on the rear. And hopefully in the next couple of weeks putting air shocks on the rear and having Eric Debord put a higher 1st gear and lower 2nd in the midshift. One more thing is I am going to add power steering.
And after I get all that done, and am not happy with the power in 2nd I will add a pulley, header, and injectors to help it out a little. If I have the money left.
