What does it have? One forward gear and four reverse!

That is a good Idea! Think about it, he took a front wheel dr and moved it back. It still has all forward gears and reverse but there was not neough room for trailing arm susp. The front wheel dr motor sits a little to the front of the axle centerline so put the torsion in the other way. Its genius at work. The cvs bolted right up to the vw trans and the torsion just holds the weight. At 50 miles per gallon I would love to own it, if it were not for Pa laws. Its better than putting strut suspension in.

Trailing arms "trail" for a reason having them pivoting in the rear has to make the suspension act funny.

Your right, the way the trailing arm would hit somthing it would hit harder rather than ride over. But on the street who cares.
