where'd you get the "upgrade" fgrir? one of my friends bought a trans from a junkyard here and the owner gave him a piece of paper that said to take this ball check valve out of the line and just straight hose it. both of my dodges (ctd) still have it... i've had very few problems out of the trannys though. both still have the check valve. is that what you're talking about?

I love the Cummins but I had a gmc 6.2 with 325,679 mlies on it and still runs strong. The truck fell apart so we pulled the motor and put it in a truck with 40,000 on it. As far as the dodge trans, take that check ball out for sure, service every 12,000 miles, change to a heavy duty converter with multiple clutch discs and you will love it. I met a guy with a 2003 with 212,00 miles on it pulling a three car trailer everyday on a stock trans never rebuilt. I've heard that if you use it, it will last if you take care of it.

2003 Dodge Ram 1500 with the little 4.7L in it. Have only 53k on it and no problems other than it loves gas stations. Also I have a lead foot and want to hear the pipe sing to me.
