 Post subject: My transmission ordeal

Alright, so I bought this vanagon transmission from a guy in New York and he said it ran fine. I believe that this is true, but take a look at these pictures and tell me how strong this transmission is now, due to the corrosion.
I paid $375 to get it shipped here (not to mention it took over a month for him to pull it and ship it).
Did I get a deal?

Rockrockets you cant be serious when you say vote republican save our country lol thats a good one. Look where a republican has got us so far, Way to go bush pretty much ruined or whole country, iraq, britain, and thinkin about iran next.

Wow, you should definitely take that to the Trash Talk or Other Discussion section. That was THE most random comment ever.

Any other opinions on the transmission? Should I trust everything to hold together?

If everything is ok on the inside, then I wouldn't really worry about the corrosion. An overall pic might be better. I would take the bell housing off and look around. For the price, not too bad, imo.

my trans looked pretty bad when i got it .I had it sadblasted he was able to smooth out most of the pitting before painting it. I got it sandblasted for $30 was well worth it..
