I've seen some pretty slick electronic throttle setups. By using a standard aluminum pedal and connecting it to the drive by wire setup. Below is one example. No idea how he wired it. This is a Subaru by John at Outfront Motorsports.

Not sure on the flashing but I know that the throttle body from the drive by wire to a drive by cable. We do that with the later model Honda engines. I know that some one on here has or was also doing a later model echoic.

Enginewireing.com also did mine he does a great job. You can swap out the wire drive for cable drive by changing the tb off an older one. If you keep the wire drive I would run the setup you have with the cable running in a water tight box with the cable pulling it like the pics above.

As Dave said put the pedal in a ammo box away from mud and water. Just run you throttle cable into the ammo box to pull the pedal.

Tuning can be done with HP Tuners and a laptop. It is actually a very simple process.

If you buy HP Tuners and need help send me a pm. I will gladly help.

I've run the drive by wire for about 3 or 4 years now with no problems. Just like the other guys are saying with an aluminum pedal and a cable to the electronic pedal. But they are sealed really well really no need for weather tight ammo box. And Phil Smith at bluecat tuning in burnaugh KY can do it. And if you can't get ahold of him I can.

I put my pedal in the ammo box with the ECM beside the battery and starter to keep the all the spagetti centralized. The Cobalt pedals are plastic but very strong so I suspect they would survive out in the elements?I already had a throttle pedal and cable in place so it was my laziness coming out that made me do it this way.

Did you ever get the 06 computer flashed and the drive by wire working?
