Ive been on here a few years on and Off but have been the victim of some screwed up projects and actually lost heart there for a while because starting out with a project in my opinion isnt the best approach to get into buggies. Its rough watching folks load up and hit the trails when you have a Load of parts scattered around waiting for money and time to be put together. Ive seen alot of the members on here say Cry once and get in the woods. I love doing things on my own but I also want to get on the trails and not have to say a prayer that my buggy atleast stay together for the easy trails. So I did some trading and ended up with a pretty good buggy in my opinion!
Its a Berrien buggy 95 with the truck bed, kingpin,3x3's,centerlines terra and homeplate tires, brand new 1915, bus to bus axles and cvs, and the only thing I worry about!! The car trans. This trans has served Its previous owner well but I just worry about it. Some of you may recognize the Buggy! It was built and owned by Moe Whitt here In Ashland Ky. Im pretty lucky because Moe Is My neighbor and I have an Uncle (Danny McCalvin) on here thats pretty slick a building buggys too!! Yup Im buttering Danny Up because I my be in need of a Bus tranny eventually!
Heres a Pic of the buggy. Sorry for the poor quality Ill get some better pics today.

Let me know what you think!!

I figured Moe was getting out of buggies and he hasnt had that car tranny on there very long. He got scared one night and sold his 6rib and tracter tires haha but other than that it was a great buggy

Congrats, that is the same thing I did. Buy a buggy, mod it to your liking, and learn what you like. Then when the time is right you can build one to your specs for the style and locations you ride. Some love the light weight high performance SS's and some like the heavy duty unbreakable tanks.

A LIL Update!!!

Im liking the wheel speed the freeway flyer trans I have provides. Ive hit some pretty nice hills and the buggy handled them nicely. She hauls the mail in the open roads and fields. Ive not changed my mind on a 5 or 6 rib though Ill get one and get it built for when the Flyer takes flight!

Congrats on the Buggy. Make sure to join us at WindRock in October.

As for the Trans, I would not worry about it for now. Have fun with the buggy and if the trans breaks, start looking for something new. Until then, hit the trails and have fun.
