I recently bought my first buggy. Wasted the clutch on the first ride. I'm gonna switch to a heavier pressure plate. I have a manual clutch so i don't think I wana go more than 1700 does anybody know of any other company's that make heavy pressure plates besides kennedy. I am running a stock motor and car trans. All advice is welcome.

your stage 1 is plenty for a stock motor. you may want to try a cushlock clutch with it. and make sure you have it adj. right.hope this helps

If he does that before upgrading the tranny and cvs he`ll have worse problems! If your burnin up a clutch with a stock motor than its either not adjusted right,to big of tires or your slipping the hell out of it

I wasted the clutch 3/4 up the first steep hill I tried with the buggy. I haven't taken it apart because I've been busy with holiday stuff. It may just be the disk or it might just be the pressure plate, but I'm replacing both. The clutch cable was set to tight when I bought it. I adjusted but I think the damage was already done. I know it didn't go out due to any poor driving on my part, I didn't drive it long enough. I wanted to go to heavier plate because down the road I will switch to more power, bigger cv's, cutter brakes, and so on. I want a clutch I'm not gonna have problems with down the road. (other than normal wear and tear). I thought maybe there were other and possibly better clutch/pressure plates out there besides Kennedy. If not Kennedy it is. I'm only running 28 inch tires (snow tires for now) I have a set of 31 mudders but I think on a stock set up I will lose to much power.
What is the deal with the "cushlock" disk, I cant find any info on it just prices.
Any advice or info is always welcome

I really don't know why, buy when I went to kushloc disc It will heat up when I slip it but it will always cool down and be fine . It never slips.. when I ran stock disc I could heat it up and it would slip and when It cooled down it would still slip. 8)
