 Post subject: wont stay running

hi all,
im sorta new to all the woods buggy stuff im used to fixing quads but with my rail when i start it it wount stay running when i let go of the key ive messed with the idiol and checked the gas flow its good also when i keep it running with the key it puts oil everywhere ive came to the conclusion that its ether a bad wire some where :oops: i really want to get it running by meroial day ride down in yellow creek... sorry if along the line it was a little hazey i explained best i could

Disconnect the hot wire to the coil and run one directly from the battery just for testing purposes. Also check your ground too. :wink: As far as the oil every where, that might be another issue like too much blow by. :shock:

Is your motor trying to lock up from no oil? Fly wheel shims to tight?

Thanks ill try that and already checked my ground and no its not trying to lock up from no oil and shims souldnt ill check them thanks any other sugestions are welcome

So far it sounds like a bad Ignition switch thats only applying power to the coil in the start position.

Timing... loosen the distributor and turn it each way a bit and try to start it. Thanks my guess.

ya right now i think it might be my ignition becuse it was working like a weeke ago so we could evaluae the problume and now i got nothing and i know i got spark so ill see what i can do tonight thanks agin all
