Make sure you have the right kind of power going to the pump,,as in ACC not Start ,,,Hot when on. Also make sure your fuel lines aren't crossed.

Or you can just spend 5 minutes and clean out the jets... Ooops.. that will only work on an AC engine.. I forgot that you cannot trouble shoot a WC engine..

Is the fuel pump relay clicking? Try disconnecting the battery overnight too.

Does the ecm provide power or ground to the relay and is the relay wired accordingly?

Perhaps the ecu is bad. Might try another one.

It needs the computer to tell it when to run.

Check the relay, it should run off the ignition since it has a fuel return, as well.

Usually the comp. just earths the relay for the pump, so if the comp. is bad, the circuit is usually fused open and it runs all the time rather than never switching on.

If you can not figure out why it does not work from the ECU, I see no reason why you can not connect it to you Ignition circuit to run constantly. The system has a fuel regulator to maintain the proper pressure so it should not matter.

not a terrible idea. although I would only use it for troubleshooting. in the long term, I think letting the ECU control the fuel pump is a much better idea.

Are you sure the ECU is turning on like it should? all power sources hooked up correctly? Do you have power to both yellow wires at the fuel relay?

The ECUs are much harder to damage than you might think. but not impossible. if you think the ECU is wired correctly, and the only issue is the fuel pump, hard wire and see if it goes. But I bet it's a larger issue.

On my suby the comp grounds the relay, so make sure the relay is wired correctly

Some suby 2.2 obd1 had a cluster of grounds that grounded to the engine. Double check your grounds too.
