Does anyone know how to trick or bypass gm anti theft. This winter i want to install 02 ecotec in my buggy. I am on a budget and plan on using original computer and harness and eliminating what i don't need. I have studied the schematics and the only real concern is the theft deterent. Under normal circunstances the ignition lock cylinder sends a voltage signal to the body control module which i of course won't have and in turn the bcm sends a message over the class 2 serial data line to the ecm to allow the engine to run. Is this a voltage or ground signal or some kind of binary code and does anyone know how to get around it? Thank you very much for any info.

I know this is kinda old, but I had to do this on my engine. Depending on which generation pass-key it is, you can build a little circuit that will send the serial signal to the computer to make it think the anti-theft device is there. It cost me like 10 bucks in radio shack parts and it works great.

I'm going to set it up to where I have a tiny hidden toggle switch to disable the circuit and it'll be my theft deterrent, lol.

Just search for pass-key bypass, or something along those lines.

Yeah, I found it on the net.
That's quite a bit newer than mine, but it's still worth a search.
