Would a bad alternator prevent the idiot light from coming on when the key is turned on but not started? It's on a WC but I wired it the same as an AC. Alternator isn't charging and thought I would pull it off and take it and get it checked but was curious what you all might think.

maybe a wire came undone somewhere between your ignition and alternator or your idiot light just went bad for some reason but it should of stayed on the entire time if your alternator was bad just like in a car

That's what I was wondering. Maybe alt would be last thing to check.
Thanks.

It has a plug with only one wire hooked up then it has the wire going to the battery.

Needs to be wired like this for an AL82 Bosch single wire alternator.
