I'm thinking I should install one while I'm wiring. I haven't looked at one or used one since I was a teenager. Any suggestions?

Also a buddy of mine suggested installing a 12 volt accessory plug while I'm there.

Most of us have CB's, my problem is I keep breaking the antenna's so it won't work. Get a short antenna and mount it where it won't get broken to easily.

All of the guys I run with have radios in there buggies. If someone doesnt have a radio - we put them in the middle of the pack so we can keep everyone together. I rode with some guys that wouldnt wait for you when you turn off on trail to another, so we installed radios and cured the problem of not knowing which way to go next! The next problem came when they would put theirs in and not set it up properly -by getting the SWRs set . They in turn couldnt hear or talk as far as the others! The shop I got my antenna from gave me a five year unlimited warrenty with mine and even set the SWRs for free. I have broken the antenna twice {once by roll over and once by high speed low lying limb!} and they replaced them with no problems. Each time they get broken I get five years on each! They also carry used radios-- bought mine for $20.00 and have had it for over three years ---what a deal! If you dont set the SWRs you can burn up your radio very quick! also by using the radio after breaking or losing the antenna will cause the radio to burn up!

SWR=In telecommunications, standing wave ratio (SWR) is the ratio of the amplitude of a partial standing wave at an antinode (maximum) to the amplitude at an adjacent node (minimum), in an electrical transmission line.
