Battery chargers have come a long way.
The latest microprocessor-controlled chargers
are fantastic. They check (and repair) sulfation

and then charge with a digital display showing
progress.
I am using this unit:

$39.99 at Advance Auto. Well worth it.

Look up a company called Solargizer....

They make small and large processor controlled solar panel chargers for army vehicles in 12 and 24 Volt.

They fight sulfation, they work every time your vehicle is in the sun, and they are pretty cheap.

My buddies 2.5 Ton has one about 2" x 4" on the dash and the batteries are 10 years old and crank the motor like they are new.
