Guys I have a 2 wire alternator on my rail. We just finished some front end work on it took it out for a quick test spin now the alternator isn't working. Light in dash comes on does't go out at all. Are the brushes under the wire with the spade hook up or on one of the ends? Can the regulator be serviced? thanks

Is this an ac motor with Motorola alt? How did you wire it?

it is a ac motor, the alternator is a bosch unit, has the charging post by the pulley and the spade post behind that. Has a #10 wire to the battery-#14 to the charge light in the dash. Has worked fine until the other day.

First one is if your converting from external regulator to internal.

This one for internal regulator Image

I have mine wired like the second diagram. Is the regulator underneth the single push on connector? brushes? is the regulator repacable?

Yes the regulator is under the male spade connector. Black square with blue wire in this picture. Not sure on how to rebuild them. I'd check the wireing first.

If you were welding on the chassis, what did you disconnect
before the welding? Some people just disconnect the battery.

had the front spindles off, no welding to the chassis. I think the regulator or maybe bad brushes. When this snow leaves hopefully I will get time to dig into it again.
