Well I found a guy on Craigslist who has two webber 44s for sale it came off of his 2000cc engine. He wants 600 dollars.... I know webbers are good but isn't that a little high for a used carb system? Also, I was looking on drews off road. And seen there empi dual carb kit for just over 500 brand new. http://www.go-drews.com/catalog.php?ite ... ry%3DCarbs if I bought these should I go with the 40 or 44s? I have a 2165cc thanks any help is appreciated.

*UPDATE* this guy off of Craigslist finally gave me the part # this is what he has. http://w.ivenue.com/larrysoffroadCenter ... t-2-4.html

These carbs are 48's and there nearly 1200 brand new. He wants 600. Do you guys think this is to much, carb for a 2165 or just enough. I don't want to buy them and run to rich. I have a msd ignition module with an adjustable rev limiter. THANKS AGAIN for your help!

48 Carbs will be a lot for a 2165 unless you have an aggressive cam and heads to match. I ran 48 dells on my 2276 for 12 years. In fact they are still running on that engine in my friends bug

I was told the heads were worked and they were Mofaco heads (I think he said 044 Mofaco but can't really remember) I'm not sure what kind of cam it has in her, but it sound brilliant. Has a nice lope to it. I know it's starving for fuel and air right now. Ex. Being going from idle to half throttle it spits and sputters for a couple seconds then comes to life. It has great power as long as you keep the Rpms up but it makes it hard to just cruise around the woods without being on the clutch all the time.

I wouldn't go any bigger than 44s. 40s would be a better fit for woods riding. Carbs are all about velocity, and unless your running high rpms with some high dollar heads, 48s are gonna be too much.

Yeah I've been thinking about this, I have 044 heads so I asked the guy how much he would want for his 048 heads And his 048 carbs and be wants 1400 so i think I'm going to save my money and get an empi kit from drews off road. I posted A link on my previous post. I just don't want to spend a ton of money on a carb setup right now. I think I'll get there 044 kit drews off road said they made great power with this setup.

When is drews swap and sale? And what all is there that day?? Are there a bunch of vendors and such? Or is it just a bunch of buggy owners having a good time?
