Post subject:  How to wire up blinkers?

Im wanting to put blinkers on my buggy, but i dont know what blinker relay to use. Does a parts store have one on the shelf where all the electrical supplies are? Ive seen flasher relays and what not but dont know which one to use if any of them will work. Or what vehicle could i buy one for and make it work and if there is a wiring diagram available it would be greatly apreciated.

Get a on off on switch and a relay you just go from the battery to the relay to the switch then to you're lights and ground the lights.

I did just did mine and the easiest way I found was a 2 wire flasher and radio shack has a two way toggle left is left middle off and right is right put the flasher on before the toggle on the power . Wallah instant turn signals !

Do just what giveitagallon said. use a very light weight(low load) flasher. the guy at the parts store should be able to help. if you buy to heavy(high load) they won,t blink.

If you want to make your life very easy and have self cancelling turn signals buy a Signal Dyanamics "backoff" turn signal module. They aren't super cheap but they work really well. Just need to momentary push button switches and the module. They self cancel, run the hazards and have several timed modes based on how long you hold the button. Worth the investment in my opinion.

I have always used a simple Turn Signal Switch. A turn signal is nice because it will incorporate your turn signal and brake lights together.

One thing to consider is the type of lights you use. I recommend NOT using LED lights. They will work and look really nice, however, they can create challenges on relays and interior lights.
