He runs a 2.2 subaru obd1 he was running it a month ago and blew a rad line he got it home shut it off went back out fixed the line went to start it up and fuel pump wont kick on now i checked the relay and it puts juice to the pump for about 2 seconds and kicks back out while the motor is not running but if its not putting pressure to the line should it stay on or are they normally a timed relay i would like for him to get it fixed so he can come to wellsville may 5 but dont know what he should buy first to try and solve the problem i was also thinking maybe the ignitor for the harness but i dont know nothing on them thats why i went back to the vw all fuses are good also and im assuming the computer is still good. Thanks for any suggestions

It is a timed relay. It only primes the fuel rail for 2 seconds then shuts off. Won't it start now?

no it wont start the fuel pump wont run i tested the prong off the relay for the wire that runs down to the fuel pump and when the relay is on i have power coming out of it. its od that it just up and quit working from the time he shut it off to the time he went to fire it back up an hour later. he thought it was the fuel pump so he emailed the company, they sent him a brand new one no questions asked free of charge, he threw that one on same dam thing though  i noticed when i wiggle wires in the box the relays kick on and off as im moving the wires i checked the connection and made sure of no breaks in any of the wires they are all soldered and shrink tubed. should those relays kick on and off every so often if the motor is not running

Not that I have ever noticed. The fuel pump relay won't work again until the ECU sees the engine is running. Wiggling wires to make something work isn't good, that would be the first place to look.

My guess is there is no crank signal so the computer does not turn the pump on. To verify see if the spark is also missing. Do you see the tach move when cranking?
