This is the new ecotec turbo with VVT and Direct Injection. Was at the bloomsburg 4x4 Jamberi this weekend and chevy had a tent with this cut out of the engine. This little engine is putting out some serious power! 260 hp and 260 Lbs of torque and can be bumped to 280 with a factory upgrade.

I drove a saab that had it in it. I thought it was a six banger turbo. It was an auction car that we beat on the way to auction. I was amazed it was a turbo ecotec in a saab!? I think it looked like an over priced cobalt.

this is the engine in the 09,10 and 11 cobalt ss and hhr ss and there fun to drive :D GM bought saab years ago and this is where the ecotec engine design comes from.

If you go with this beast, keep the front wheel drive trans with a shaft going back to another diff. It will put you in an early grave. :| Start with a whole new frame.

I have been reading all the information I can find on the computer, and it seems to be alot more pros than cons. With my big 4 seater I beleive it will give all the power I will ever need. Plus I can put my 1915 and 3 rib in a 2 seater for my oldest son to drive. I have two six ribs to hook up to the ecotec. All I need is project money. Time to hall scrap again.
