its been a while since i used one so i dont remember how loud they are but have you tried a holley "red" (if using carbs) pump, they also have several other "inline" and "carburated" and "efi" type pumps

Thanks for the reply.
It's an "efi". An Ecotec engine swap.
I think I'm going to use a E2000.
If Ford used them for OEM, I'm thinking that it should last longer.
And maybe it's not as loud as the summit was.

What works for my 2.2 Ecotec is Wix33270 pre-filter screen, E8445 pump, a large steel bodied in line filter before the regulator. I first used an Airtex E8228 with a motorcycle in tank screen inlet filter pipe an had a lot of noise from cavitation. Did some testing with clear lines before the pump and a volume test on the return and found it was too much flow. Changed screen to a larger outside inline WIX 33270 screen and the cavitation got better but pump was still working too hard. The stock regulator was being overwhelmed and the engine would run erratically. Changed the pump to a E8445 and built a surge tank with two fuel inlets and a vent tube and that has fixed 95% of my experienced problems. I still get a cavitation noise for just a second when turn hard enough to throw the gas away from one of the inlets in the tank. I built the surge tank from a 7" section of pipe and welded chevy fuel line quick connectors to it. I have been planning to built a baffled sump style tank but this has been working just fine. Just know that these pumps with drain 20oz of fuel from a small surge tank in seconds.
