ive been talking with my buddy about a vtec he has been a honda tec for 6 years and we discused the 4 cyl and he mentioned the v6 . my question is anyone running a vtec , i cant find much on here ? any help would be great on this !! the reason i am interested in the honda power plant is my access to the engine is very good and my bud i amazing when it come to the major issues to me like wiring and so on !!! |

there is a guy on here running a 3.0,atleast i think its a 3.0 maybe a 3.1 i dont know,i do know its a bad ass motor |

I am looking at a 3.2 vtech for the new buggy they are 240 hp i believe for the money it would cost to build a vw {I still got my ac powered buggy} to get that kinda power is hardly worth it as heavy as my right foot is the vw motor is broke now from that sweet spot around 7500  but thats what you pay the big bucks for oh well winter is here

Hi everybody I am building a buggy right now that i am putting the Honda Acura 3.2 vtec in. the motor weights 380lb with no oil or water. The buggy is not complete yet so i do not know how well it runs. |

the weight of the motor also included the adapter plate clutch and flywheel. |

KY-BC's is an aluminum block and heads. What does a stroker weigh again? 2500ish or so. |

I think the 2.0 vtech motor would be great for a buggy. You would have lots of wheel speed with a factory 8k redline. http://automobiles.honda.com/civic-si-s ... mance.aspx That is originally what I was looking for but they were a little expensive at the time, and I could not find enough info on the wiring and tuning. That is why I went to the s/c ecotec. I have less in my ecotec than most a/c stroker kits. But before I get another war started, I have about 50 to 60 extra pounds of motor than a A/C. |

I went over lots of engines before I finally went with the ecotec. you just cant beat the ecotec swap. The honda sounds good but needs high revs to get the torque. The ecotec makes more torque at lower revs which is what you want for hill climbs. The honda v6 puts out more torque but still at higher revs and also the added weight. Not to mention the cost of a honda engine to the ecotec. I did my hole swap for $1200. Terry you swap the supercharger for a turbo setup and youll free up a good increase in power. |

All depends on turbo size and trim. My buddys got a turbo ecotec with a T2 turbo. Hits in very low rpms. Sorry to thread jack! |
