Well first off I think I've seen a few comments on here about buying american whether its harleys or tools. SO WHY NOT WC MOTORS! I love the fact that I run a GM waterpumper on stock plugs and maybe 2 oil changes that is turning 15 this season, lol. Its heavy but does great for a trail rider / medium hill climber. And yes I know It wont win a hill climb contest. ( But I blame the weak tranny for that, a good mid-engine tranny and crank the ponies out of it, then maybe) But that is another thread 8) . Now throw us into a wooded / hilly version of the baja 1000. Then let see a stroker run hard for 4 to 12 hours, woo hooo. But as I've said before, who cares what it runs on, I just love these things and wanna ride. Ok, who's next on the soap box?

I will run my buggy with my 2386 stroker against your WP and buggy any day you want. (as long as its not muddy cause im not getting my car dirty) 4 hours 12 hours night or day. Lets go. Ill run you on that. On top of being a stroker... ILL PUSH 12PSI ALL DAY! Fuel consumption would be my only problem. Larry already said he will be waiting at the check point with fuel so thats covered. I might have him drive a little just to spank that ass too! Bring your wp on! Maybe you have been looking at the wrong stroker motors. Mine was built in baja country. As is the buggy.

mike's v6 honda is hard to hang onto... Smoooooth all the way through and tons of torque. Not bad for an engine that came out of your grandmas accord :!: Oh yeah, I'd call mike's buggy as traditional as anyone else's, last time I checked it's pretty much a bare bones beeline woods buggy??? yay mike!

Now Larry, I think you may misunderstand me. I hear of guys getting close to 400 ponies outta some of these little GM 4 bangers, but I can't afford the tranny to handle it reliably and long term. From the way you guys talk about the cost of your heads, its probibly about the same as the transaxels I'm thinking of. But its not in the budget ...... yet  And yes rock I know a chaindrive would take care of that. But I wanna beat Larry at his own game..... someday

No, I think I do understand you. Was just messin with ya. 8)

Call the right guy, and he can build that tranny to handle hp for less money than you might think. A fine feller by the name of Jones, Chuck Jones.

Make it even easier to beat me at the game (It definately aint MY game, and it aint hard to beat me at it) and you could just run what some very smart and very commited guys developed with over 25 yrs of hillclimbing trial and error. No guessing. No wasted work, time, or money.

Very wise words,,,,however,,,,a lot of folks are glad that those Icons didn't settle on what had been proven,,,,they went out on a limb and improved, altered, even went against the grain to be innovative. For those that want to do it their own way,,,I say go for it,,that is what makes buggys so interesting. But if you have more money than time, and less willingness to work,,then order up one of those cookie cutters.

Don't know for sure if it's like the northstar, but if it is it's junk.
All sorts of head and block problems.
