Well winter is comming up and I'm thinking about changing my motor to a water cooled one. Is the flat 6 in the SVX too much for my woods buggy. As in too tail heavy or too much for the three rib bus transmission I currently have? I understand the you can grenade a transmission pretty easy if you are careless, you will it hold up if you are easy on it. Also how much longer is the engine that the 1600 that I have now? Living in Fort Worth, TExas I mostly run on dirt/rock trails, not much sand, but some hill climbing. What do you think?

Firebug here,,,I run that engine,,She's a hoss, I grenaded 2 trannys in 2 days,,,091's at that. If you plan to ride like granny on valium,,go for it,,if you want to have fun,,stick with the 1600 or maybe the ej22 suby.. with short tires and light foot. Then upgrade to a built 091 later. The eg33 is heavy and sticks out about 9" further than your 4 banger,,you will need very long trailing arms ,maybe chain drive to be a hard hitter or it will stay pointing at the sky

Steve's right,,the 2.2 is plentiful and fits nicely where the vw fits..the eg33 is rare,,heavy,,and long,,and besides,,I don't need the competition when looking for donor cars
