I AM IN THE PROCESS OF BUILDING A NEW RAIL. I HAVE AND WOULD LIKE TO TRY RUNNING A GM 3.4L ALUMINUM ENGINE. CAN ANYONE HELP WITH PICS OF MOTOR MOUNTING AND OR GIVE ADVICE ON HOW TO GO ABOUT THIS?

its the v-6 that has the overhead cam like the cadilac v-8 north star. hints the name short star. if its not its the same as 2.8 3.1 gm more or less. helps on the way. just have to figure what motor where looking at.

The shortstar is a 3.5 liter engine. It is unlike any other 6 cylinder GM has offered. Lot power to these babies, my Aurora has this engine and it will hump up and go for such a heavy car.

The 3.4 is a Camaro engine for the most part, it is a updated version of the 2.8/3.1 that has been stroked/bored. They make good power, the older mustang 5.0s often had trouble outrunning a stout 3.4 camaro with just a K&N filter.

Dude when I built mine I used a motor out of a car so with the factory mt location and the KEP adapter plate mt it stays in the car. God knows I have tryed to throw it out :shock:

these little motors make real good H.P. but on a conventional buggy they would be a little heavy

Thanks for all the info. i have had trouble posting replies the last 2 days but i have it worked out now. i pulled my motor today,so i will start fab ing motor mounts and brkts over the weekend. i will post some pics on the new builds also so that ya ll can see my progress. so feel free to criticise any and all help or thoughts appreciated!
