While I was Putting coolant in my buggy for the first time today.(It has a 4.3 v6 with a Moroso electric water pump) it started pouring coolant out of the un-used hole on the left side of the block.. my question is why and what do I do to remedy this the right way? And buying a Ford/Dodge is NOT the answer I'm looking for!!! |

That is a bypass port. Tap it for a pipe plug and plug it off. Thats what I did on my v-8 fiero. It is not needed with electric pumps. |

I used a small 1/8 npt inch pipe plug worked great with teflon tape. |

Make sure you use GM gaskets for the waterpump. The felpro and other aftermarket gaskets I've had blow out. This happened to me twice. And yes, I was tightening it correctly. The torque spec is 33 ft lbs for the water pump bolts. John |
